Heater And Air-Conditioning Controls
Battery earth off, ashtray and centre-panel screws, hazard and climate plugs, then the four screws that hold the control panel to the audio unit.
Access
Disconnect the battery negative lead first. On an automatic, put the selector in the J-gate and carefully prise up the lever surround with a blunt flat blade. On a manual, ease the gear-lever gaiter out of the centre console.
Two screws hold the ashtray or oddments tray; pull it rearwards and unplug the lighter as it comes. Prise the small cover at the top of the control panel and undo the screws it hid. Undo the screws at the base of the centre panel and draw the assembly back a little.
Panel Off
Unplug the hazard-warning switch pack and the heater control panel. The climate panel itself is held by two screws above and two screws each side; undo them and free the panel from the audio unit. If you only need the hazard pack, it unbolts from the climate panel on its own.
Refitting
Reverse the strip. Seat every plug on the back of the climate panel fully and lock the hinged levers before the centre stack goes home.
