TDCi diesels have no accelerator cable. A position sensor in the pedal tells the ECM how far you pressed; the module then sets fuelling. Idle speed is closed-loop in the ECM. There is nothing to tweak by hand if idle is wrong: fix the sensor, wiring, or the loads the ECM is compensating for.

Pedal Assembly Off

The sensor is integral with the pedal. You renew them together. Remove the driver side lower facia trim. Unplug the sensor. Unclip the connector from the pedal bracket so you can reach the upper nut, then undo the retaining nuts and lift the assembly out.

Refit

Nuts and plug back on, trim on. With the engine running, sweep the pedal through its travel and confirm smooth response with no dead spots or sudden jumps. A damaged pedal or a bent bracket wants a new assembly, not a bent-back fix.
