Exterior Mirror Glass
Warm glass only. Push the inner edge forward, wedge the outer edge off the motor, unplug the heater if fitted. Folding on the key is A-064.
Cold Glass Breaks Clips
If the mirror is cold, the glass retaining clips often snap when you lever. Warm the glass first, or work in a heated workshop.
Press the inner edge of the glass fully forward. Slip a wide plastic or wooden wedge between the outer edge of the glass and the housing, and ease the glass off the motor. No heavy force: the glass cracks and the heater plugs tear easily. Lift the glass away and, where heated glass is fitted, unplug the element.
On refit, reconnect the heater plugs if used, then clip the glass square onto the motor without bending the carrier.
