Sunroof Motor And Initialisation
Fuse first, Allen key through the overhead console for manual move, three screws on the motor, then tilt and a half-second re-press to teach the glass.
What Stays At The Dealer
The roof mechanism itself is not a driveway job. Getting the cassette out means the headlining comes down. Anything beyond motor renewal goes to a Jaguar dealer or a roof specialist.
Dead Motor: Fuse And Manual Drive
If the electric roof will not move, check the sunroof fuse first. To open or close by hand, unclip the overhead console from the headlining between the sunvisors, take the Allen key from the tool kit, remove the plastic cover on the motor spindle, unplug the motor, and turn the spindle with the key to the position you need.
Motor Renewal
Starting at the front edge, carefully prise the overhead console down from the headlining and disconnect its plugs. Undo the three motor screws, pull the motor free, and unplug it as it comes out. Refit is the reverse, then run the initialisation below.
Initialisation
Drive the panel to the fully tilted position. Release the switch, then press it again in the same direction within half a second, and hold until the glass finishes a full open-and-close cycle and stops. If that sequence does not teach the roof, take the car to a tool that can run the Jaguar sunroof initialisation; do not invent another button dance.
