Wiper Blades, And A Wall Test For The Lamps

Arm locked out, pinch the clips, blade out of the hook. Tailgate too. Fuse tweezers live in the auxiliary box next to the battery.

Blades

Cracked rubber, smeared glass, or a year on the clock: renew them. Pull the arm out until it locks. Pinch the retaining clips and slide the blade out of the hooked end. Fit the new one the same way round until it clicks. If the arm drops it will punch the glass. Fitting details vary with Jaguar versus aftermarket blades; use the old one as the pattern. Do the tailgate blade as well. If a new blade still smears, clean the glass with neat screenwash or methylated spirit.

Lamps And Fuses

Walk the exterior lamps and the horn. One dead indicator, stop lamp or headlamp is usually the bulb. Both stop lamps out is often the switch. Several indicators or tails together is a fuse or a circuit. The cabin box is under the passenger facia, glovebox open, panel in the left of the box. Spare fuses and the plastic tweezers sit in the auxiliary box next to the battery: cover unclipped. A fuse that blows again wants the circuit, not a larger rating.

Alone in a yard, reverse up to a wall and read the reflections for the brake and indicator lamps.
