Common causes
- CAN bus shorted to ground or B+
- Two wires shorted together
- A failed module holding the bus dominant
Quick checks
- Scan access: Generic scan tool (U0xxx) / WDS-IDS (U1xxx, U2xxx)
Typical fixes
- Measure across CAN H and CAN L at the DLC - approximately 60 ohm is correct
- Disconnect modules one at a time until the bus recovers to find the faulty node
