Injector control pressure too low while cranking
Injector control pressure too low while cranking
Scope: 2.0D · System(s): EMS/diesel
Common causes
- Insufficient rail pressure
- HP pump
- metering valve
- excessive injector leak-off
- fuel starvation/air ingress
Quick checks
- Confirm freeze-frame and conditions when the code set
- Compare live sensor values vs expected (unplugged/biased sensors are common)
- Check intake boots, PCV, and vacuum lines for splits (very common on aged X-Types)
- Swap coil/plug to another cylinder if misfire is cylinder-specific
Typical fixes
- Check filter and air ingress
- measure cranking rail pressure
- perform leak-off test
- then test metering valve/HP pump.
