Common causes

• Split intercooler hose or boost leak
• VNT vanes stuck or actuator seized
• Blocked or leaking EGR
• Turbo wear
• Blocked DPF raising back pressure

Quick checks

• Scan access: Generic OBD-II scan tool / WDS-IDS

Typical fixes

• Pressure-test the charge air system for leaks - split intercooler hoses are extremely common
• Check the turbo actuator moves through its full travel
• Clean or replace the EGR valve
• Check DPF back pressure
• Replace the turbo if shaft play is present
